THE Swire Shipping Fijian Drua will get their first test on the road this weekend, travelling to Napier in New Zealand for round two of the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific.

The Drua away-game results from the past few seasons speak for themselves and it’s vital to start changing the narrative.

This is especially important with the new format seeing only six teams through to the finals, the Drua finishing outside of the top six in the past two seasons.

Acknowledging their focus on winning their away games, head coach Glen Jackson shed light on the Hurricanes’ lethal game at the breakdowns.

“The Hurricanes are a bit like the Brumbies around the breakdown, they go really hard there,” he said.

“They got some really good loose forwards, good centres that go hard so it’s certainly an area that we’ve focused on all year, getting our breakdown.”

With that, Jackson said it’s important to also recognise the growing belief the players have for the team.

“I think the biggest focus is making sure that this team has the belief that its growing with them and making sure that we understand that on the road is something that we are focused on getting the win,” he added.

The Drua were back in training yesterday after a much-needed rest on Sunday.

They meet the Hurricanes at McLean Park at 3.35pm on Saturday.
